Three days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport stated there’s been no talk at AC Milan selling Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City in the summer window, which contradicted a lot of other claims.

TuttoMercatoWeb state otherwise and provide the latest on the Citizens’ pursuit of the midfielder.

Pep Guardiola wants Manchester City to strengthen their midfield and has chosen the 26-year-old as the main target. The Premier League club will try to secure Reijnders’ services to please their manager.

Manchester City will compete in the Club World Cup that will start on June 14th and can carry out signings earlier that month. They would prefer to have Reijnders for this tournament.

TMW state Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak could speed up and convince the Rossoneri to sell the Netherlands international between June 1-10th.

Faced with the possibility of losing the player for at least €60m, the Serie A club have identified Torino’s Samuele Ricci as his successor. They face competition from Inter Milan but will try to beat their rival.

Ricci is valued at around €30-35m and Torino chairman Urbano Cairo hopes for an auction. TMW say Milan can afford to pay this if they were to sell Reijnders to Manchester City for €60m, but you could pick any figure from €50m to €90m and it will have been mentioned as a potential price in Italy recently.

Calciomercato journalist Daniele Longo took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state that Manchester City ‘heat up’ negotiations for the Dutchman. The English club’s emissaries are expected in Italy in the next few days.

The Milan player, for his part, is attracted by the possibility of playing under Guardiola.

More developments are expected in the coming days.
