Feyenoord manager Arne A lot has risen on Tottenham’s list of candidates for the manager’s position after Chelsea ruled him out and went for Mauricio Pochettino.
That’s according to Soccer News, who say Slot ‘rises one place’ upwards thanks to Pochettino no longer being available.
Slot has been working wonders with Feyenoord this season, leading them to the top of the Eredivisie title ahead of the likes of Ajax and PSV Eindhoven with an attractive brand of football.
That’s led to increasing interest in his signature, particularly in the Premier League, where Leeds were keen on his signature earlier this season.
That move never happened but he has continued to be linked with a switch and both Chelsea and Tottenham are believed to have him on their list of potential candidates.
Soccer News say the former has now ‘crossed off’ the Dutchman, though, as they are pushing for a deal to hire former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
That decision means he has ‘rises one place’ on Daniel Levy’s list as he has now also ruled out making a move to bring Pochettino back.
At the moment the Tottenham supremo still prefers other trainers but Slot is seen as an ‘interesting option’ should his other candidates not work out. One major issue for Slot is his lack of experiences in a foreign competition, which means he is ‘a step behind’ other options.
Until one of them is signed up and announced, though, he remains on Spurs’ list, and has now even moved up it with Pochettino moving towards Stamford Bridge.
