In January 2019, Glen Kamara arrived at Rangers and his time at Ibrox came to an end when he left Michael Beale’s side for Leeds United this summer.
The midfielder managed nine goals and 11 assists from 193 appearances for Rangers and was part of their title winning squad during the 2020/21 season.
Speaking to Ilta-Sanomat, the 27-year-old insisted everyone at Rangers, including the players, staff and their fans, were great to him and that he made a “lot of good friends” from his time at Ibrox.
The Finland international has opened up about his special bond with Connor Goldson and how Michael Beale’s defender has helped in his career development at Rangers. This also led to the duo spending time together off the pitch as well.
“He was like a big brother to me. He helped me with everything, starting with always being there on time and at the gym in the morning or after training. His standards were incredibly high. He made me more like him, which was a good thing. We hung out together a lot in our free time,” the Finnish midfielder said.
Ilta-Sanomat points out that a certain section of Rangers fans on social media didn’t appreciate the player towards the end of his spell with Michael Beale’s side. He responded by stating that he doesn’t give a lot of attention to what’s been said online.
“The same people who say you are the best player in the world will say the following week that you are a terrible player. I stopped reading social media years ago. It does not bother me. It’s just part of the game, I guess,” he explained.
The player added that he’ll miss his neighbourhood in Glasgow and a few restaurants he used to go to in the city.
