Leeds United looked at Torino’s Ola Aina in January and were reportedly interested in carrying out his signing in the same window.
A deal didn’t take shape and the winger will be at the Serie A side until the end of this season. His contract expires in June.
Last month, InterLive.it reported Leeds could be given an opportunity to sign the 26-year-old for free in the summer, since he has no desire to sign an extension.
Fast forward to March and Torino Granata state the England-born Nigeria international has ‘decided’ that his future will be in the Premier League.
Aina hasn’t been used regularly by his manager Ivan Jurić, making five appearances this year. The report states there’s ‘no doubt’ the ex-Chelsea man will return to the Premier League after this season, where Leeds are among the clubs in the mix to sign him.
It’s explained the Whites ‘have been pressing for months’ to sign Aina in the summer, and it’s also pointed out they tried securing his services in the winter market.
