On April 29th, Foot Mercato reported Crystal Palace have started discussions with Batista Mendy’s representatives over a potential deal. It was also stated the Premier League side have made an offer to Trabzonspor.
Fotospor now back it up and add that the Eagles have started negotiations to try to sign the 24-year-old in the summer window.
Mendy has been used both as a centre-back and a midfielder this season, managing a goal and an assist from 40 games.
Crystal Palace have been following him for a while and have held talks with his agent. It’s claimed the versatile player’s representative has also met with the Turkish club, who are ready to sell his client, as long as there’s at least €15m on offer.
The former Angers man’s deal lasts until 2027, but he ‘wants to go to England’ in the next window, where Oliver Glasner’s side are keen on signing him.
Fotospor explain that ‘serious steps will be taken in very short time’, without making it clear whether this will be from Crystal Palace, Mendy’s camp or both.
