Leeds United strengthened their attack in the summer window by signing Luis Sinisterra, Brenden Aaronson and Wilfried Gnonto.
The Colombia international joined the Whites after spending four seasons at Feyenoord.
Sinisterra arrived in Europe for the first time when the Eredivisie club took him from Colombian side Once Caldas in 2018.
Feyenoord general manager Dennis te Kloese gave an interview to De Telegraaf to discuss club’s summer business. He used the new Leeds player to make a point that players have to adapt to the club’s needs.
“That’s right, he [Feyenoord manager Arne Slot] demands a lot from them physically, but give him and the players some time,” Te Kloese said.
“When Luis Sinisterra came here a few years ago, there were immediate doubts. ‘Can he do something?’ That was the question for many.
“He was almost loaned to Dordrecht. I myself was at LA Galaxy during that period and also asked if he could not be loaned to us. He was also seriously injured and now he appears to be Feyenoord’s record transfer for this summer.”
The 23-year-old scored his first league goal for Leeds in their 1-1 draw against Everton. He also found the back of net and managed an assist in his side’s 3-1 win over Barnsley in the EFL Cup second round clash last month.
Te Kloese was asked whether Feyenoord stand in line to receive a ‘big bonus’ from Leeds.
He said: “I can’t share everything, but if Leeds United finish in the top ten, for example, I’ll run around De Kuip [Feyenoord stadium] with a Leeds flag…”
Jesse Marsch’s side are currently seventh in the table with eight points after five matches.
