With many reports saying that Savinho’s good season at Girona managed to convince the City Group to move him to Manchester City, we’re still waiting for that transfer to be confirmed.
The player, meanwhile, had a good start to the Copa América. Despite starting Brazil’s first game on the bench, he won a place in the starting team and is expected to keep that for the rest of the tournament.
That’s why Globo Esporte now shares a long story about his career, and they couldn’t avoid mentioning the possibility of his transfer to Manchester City this summer.
“I know there are a lot of rumours about Manchester City, but I’m focused here on the Copa América and I don’t want to talk about it too much. I’m leaving it to my agents to decide off the pitch. I’m focused and we’ll have news soon.”
Despite sharing Savinho’s quotes, Globo Esporte make sure to claim that Manchester City have an agreement with Troyes to sign Savinho for around €40m. They state the player is just pretending he doesn’t know about the move.
Now with Savinho for the first time being a starter in a big competition with the national team, this is indeed turning into a big summer for him.
The midfielder was purchased by the City Group back in 2022, and two years later, it seems the investment really paid off.
