Derby County goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström has backed the club for success under John Eustace.

Svenska Dagbladet have an interview with the player today in which he’s full of praise for Eustace’s work at Derby so far.

Eustace was appointed by the Rams in February of this year. That came as something of a surprise as he left his role at Blackburn Rovers to take up the position.

He successfully led them to safety in the Championship in their first season back. And they have gone from strength to strength this season.

They currently sit tenth in the Championship after 15 games, with six wins, five draws and four losses to their name to date. Their tally of 23 points means they’re six points outside of the relegation zone at this point in time.

In fact, they are only two points outside of the top six, with Millwall in sixth on 25 points at this stage. Things appear to be going very well under Eustace, who has a 41.4% win percentage at this point.

Zetterström is absolutely a fan of the Derby manager. And is also pleased to hear his manager praising him in public as well.

“If we continue on the path we have taken, I am convinced that it will be a fun season,” he said.

“I was very happy to hear that (praise from Eustace). He has done a lot for the club, and has shown great confidence in me, which I really appreciate. It is heartwarming to hear.”
