Manchester City have several positions they need to improve during the summer transfer window, with fullback being one of the areas of most concern. Pep Guardiola’s options at fullback aren’t of the highest standard and there needs to be big changes in the summer.
If German newspaper Bild are to believed, Guardiola and those in charge at Manchester City have already started the process of making those changes. The Premier League club are one of 6 said to have submitted an offer to Sead Kolasinac.
With a Schalke contract expiring in June, Kolasinac’s representatives are collecting the offers before they decide which step to make next. Manchester City are joined by AC Milan, Juventus, AS Roma, Liverpool and Arsenal in the chase to sign the left-back.
Guardiola will know Kolasinac well from his time in German football, and the player may well have built up a respect for Guardiola during that period. A lot will come down to finances, which won’t be a problem for Manchester City, but Kolasinac will also want to be assured of his role at any new club.
The 23 year old has been excellent recently and put in a Man of the Match performance at the weekend, scoring the only goal as Schalke beat Mainz.
