AS Roma defender Roger Ibañez is apparently drawing big interest from the Premier League, and on Thursday morning, we saw a report saying Fulham are keen on his signing.
The Whites reportedly made an enquiry for the centre-back, but there was no information about an official offer just yet.
Now as outlet Forza Roma features a story on this chase, they claim that even though the likes of Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have ‘withdrawn’ from the race, Fulham’s interest ‘remains’.
The big problem for the transfer is Roma’s request. The Giallorossi even dropped the player’s price, giving a discount in their previous €30-35m demands, but that’s still a lot for the interested clubs.
Forza Roma writes that Fulham seem ‘willing to formulate’ their first offer for Ibanez, but the Whites’ bid ‘will not exceed €20m’.
So there’s clearly a big gap between the numbers on the table, and we shall see if there’s any chance the clubs can find a common ground.
This is the second Serie A player Fulham are going after, albeit unsuccessfully, as they’re also having problems to match the requests for Fiorentina’s Igor.
