Last week, Corriere della Sera reported Federico Chiesa is giving serious consideration to a Liverpool exit and Italy manager Rino Gattuso has had a key impact on the decision.

The former midfielder urged the ex-Juventus star to join a new club, if he wants to play for the Azzurri at the 2026 World Cup.

Calciomercato report today that Liverpool are only interested in a permanent sale and this view is shared by Chiesa.

Fenerbahce are interested in the winger but the destination does not excite the winger, who is said to be looking for an Italian destination where he becomes a prominent player and earns a top-level salary.

Chiesa is only keen on a return to Italy. The 27-year-old would have to reduce his salary demands for a move back to Serie A, where clubs are aware of his fitness problems.

Napoli and AC Milan see him as an option but they will have to focus on sales to make a move.

Liverpool are looking to earn €15m from the player’s sale as that will allow them to make a capital gain.
