Fulham can be an option for Real Betis’ Sergi Altimira in the winter market, according to Wednesday’s edition of AS.
The Catalan midfielder has played 1,261 minutes from 20 appearances so far this season. There’s been a drop in his minutes since the end of September in the league. To put it in context, he’s played less than 150 minutes since then.
This hasn’t put off Fulham or other clubs from considering signing him in January.
AS state the midfielder’s situation at Real Betis has sparked interest from Fulham and the Bundesliga sides. Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart were keen last summer, and both are still in the mix.
Marco Silva’s side would have to challenge these two teams to secure the 24-year-old’s services. They have reportedly made a ‘strong offer’, which will likely relate more to a firm approach then a bid on the table.
The Spaniard has a contract until 2029, but the newspaper insist the La Liga side are ready to sell him this month. The Andalusian club need at least €20m to part ways with their player.
Fulham have reasonable chance of success

Real Betis are prioritising signing a new striker and improving other positions depends on outgoings. Altimira’s sale can help them in this regard.
Fulham or another club can capitalise on Real Betis’ situation by offering €20m for Altimira.
Wolves and Manchester City were both credited with interest in the last January window. Everton then made an unsuccessful attempt in the summer.
On Tuesday, Messaggero Veneto reported Silva’s side have offered €20m for Udinese midfielder Arthur Atta.
