West Bromwich Albion and Hull City have Lyon goalkeeper Rémy Descamps on their wish list for the winter market.

Le Progrès is a newspaper local to the Ligue 1 side. They cover, relayed by Foot Mercato, West Brom and Hull City interest in the 29-year-old.

Lyon are under pressure to sell some of their players in this window. The stopper is in this list and could be heading to England.

Les Gones decided to keep the Frenchman after selling Lucas Perri to Leeds United last summer.

This season, he has played seven matches, keeping five clean sheets and conceding four goals. He suffered an injury in September, subsequently Dominik Greif started in his absence and maintained his place even after Descamps regained fitness.

The report points out the French club assured the goalkeeper they were counting on him. That hasn’t translated to minutes and his situation has attracted interest from West Brom and Hull City.

Le Progrès state the Championship duo are offering Descamps an opportunity to feature regularly. They add he’s ‘on the verge of leaving’ and could move to England. This is a ‘surprise’ considering Lyon hadn’t planned to offload him in January.

Hull City have a transfer ban for January. This gives West Brom a clear advantage to sign the Frenchman.
