Heerenveen defender Milan van Ewijk has again admitted he wants a move in the summer transfer window after Fulham showed an interest in him in January.
Van Ewijk was linked with Marco Silva’s side throughout the winter window as they looked to sign competition for Kenny Tete at right-back.
Several reports put the Premier League side alongside Sporting Club de Portugal in showing in interest in the Heerenveen man, who had seemingly caught the eye this season.
He ultimately ended up staying where he was, with Fulham bringing in Cedric Soares and Sporting doing a deal for Hector Bellerin after losing Pedro Porro to Tottenham.
The interest from Fulham and the Portuguese side seemingly whetted the defender’s appetite, though, later admitting that he wants to secure a transfer in the summer if can get it.
That’s a sentiment he has now reiterated, insisting he would like to follow in Denzel Dumfries’ footsteps and secure a move away from the Dutch club.
“We have a bit of the same career, we are going in the same direction and I hope to continue in his direction,” Soccer News report him saying to NOS.
“Not necessarily to PSV or Italy. I’m only 22, still have a long way to go to get to that level. But I am willing to work hard for it and give everything for it.
“I try to stay on the route that I have in mind. My ambition is to take that step and I am trying to develop myself to be ready for that step.”
