Four days ago, we covered claims from the Dutch press that FC Twente are very serious about Rangers’ Robin Pröpper. It was also said he’s their big goal for this summer, a year after letting him move to Ibrox.
The centre-back won’t be playing under new Rangers manager Russell Martin next season as he’s set to return to Twente.
According to Algemeen Dagblad, the 31-year-old’s return to his old club is ‘getting closer’ as they have reached an agreement with Rangers.
The Dutchman spent three years at the Eredivisie side before leaving them for Rangers in August of last year. AD say they missed his experience and leadership this season.
Tubantia journalist Leon ten Voorde, took to X, formerly known as Twitter to report on this operation. His covers the Dutch club and claims there’s been an agreement between them and Rangers for a while. He adds the defender has a three-year contract ready for him.

Pröpper played 42 games for Rangers this season, but his playing time would be limited under Russell Martin next season. Therefore, the Scottish club have decided to sell him this summer.
Rangers invested €3m to buy him and De Telegraaf state they would be satisfied with half that amount, meaning €1.5m. They add Twente have already agreed personal terms with Pröpper for a three-year contract.
Twente and Rangers are now expected to sort out the final details quickly.
