Atalanta’s Honest Ahanor has impressed so far this season. The 17-year-old joined the Bergamo club from Genoa in the summer and is already attracting interest from Nottingham Forest and Brighton.

So far in the 2025/26 campaign, the teenager has played seven times in Serie A. He’s also picked up three Champions League appearances, featuring against Marseille, PSG and Club Brugge.

Given his age and his rise, it’s no surprise attention on the youngster is growing.

Sport Witness have now been informed that Nottingham Forest and Brighton are interested in signing Ahanor.

Interest from the two clubs is still at an initial stage and nothing is advanced.

Honest Ahanor
BERGAMO, ITALY – OCTOBER 19, 2025:
Honest Ahanor of Atalanta looks on
during the Serie A ATALANTA BC v SS LAZIO at New Balance Arena.

This comes after Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier this week that English clubs are increasingly keeping an eye on the defender.

The report claimed the Bergamo club want €40m to part ways with the player. That is a price tag Nottingham Forest and Brighton will have to meet, with Honest Ahanor having joined for €20m in the summer.

English interest in the talent isn’t new. Chelsea tried to sign him in June, but by then Atalanta had sealed the deal.

Ahanor is now widely regarded as one of the best Italian talents around. He is a left-back by trade but is versatile enough to play at left centre-back.
