Everton could face competition from Napoli for Udinese striker Beto in the summer if they revive their interest from the January transfer window.
That’s according to Mondo Udinese, who say the Serie A leaders could make a move for the striker if they lose Victor Osimhen in the summer.
They explain that after a short period of decline, Beto appears to be back at his best and there are ‘many teams’ who would like to sign him as a result.
Several are ready to ‘jump through hoops’ to secure his signature and Udinese are ready to let him depart so long as they can ‘monetise’ a sale as much as possible.
Everton are one of those who are keen and the ‘first team’ who are ready to make a move. They already ‘launched an offer’ in January but saw their offer sent straight back to them by Udinese who had no intention of selling a key player midway through the campaign.
The Blues still need a striker, though, and are expected to return with another bid in the summer if they manage to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
They could face competition from Napoli, though, who, faced with a departure of Victor Osimhen ‘should go looking for a replacement’.
They’re also looking for a young striker and Beto would fit the bill should they need to source a replacement for their current leading man.
They would also be a far more attractive option than Everton given they’re currently top of Serie A and destined for the title, as well as Champions League football again next season, while the Blues sit in the bottom three of the Premier League.
Of course, the lure of England can always play its part but if a direct battle were to play out, it’s fair to say Everton wouldn’t be favourites.
