Matias Soule finds his Roma future increasingly in doubt, with Aston Villa now making initial moves.
Sport Witness covered the Villans interest first last week. LaRoma24 explained the attacker has previously been on the radar at Villa Park, where he’s emerged as a target again.
Bournemouth were also mentioned as a suitor, with Tiago Pinto regularly dealing with clubs in Serie A.
Aston Villa are making in-roads over a permanent deal for the Roma attacker.
Initial contact made
Il Messaggero – via Giallorossi.net, report that Soule is one of the candidates who can leave Roma. Along with Mile Svilar, Manu Kone and Evan Ndicka, he is seen a player who can guarantee them a major capital gain by the end of June.
According to the claims, ‘Emery wants him at Aston Villa’.
The manager is believed to be a fan and this is driving their interest. Beyond that, there is an excellent relationship between the two clubs. This has developed specifically in the last year or so, as Leon Bailey and Donyell Malen both joined Roma.
The Giallorossi’s valuation of €30m isn’t expected to be a problem for English clubs. Manager Gian Piero Gasperini won’t oppose a sale, especially if a suitable replacement is signed.
Our take: Deal now gathering momentum
With the end of June coming closer with every passing week, the pressure on Roma is growing. Their situation can turn into an advantage for buying clubs.
The Argentine can play on either flank and also as a number ten. This makes him a very versatile attacker, who loves to take on defenders and create opportunities. He has now contributed to over ten goals in each of the last three Serie A seasons.
That should also be a good reason for Aston Villa to keep pursuing the situation closely.
