Italian outlet L’Unione Sarda, via Tutto Cagliati, report that Elia Caprile is expected to return to the Premier League at the end of the season.

The goalkeeper already has experience of English football from his time at Leeds United. Now he continues to attract interest in England despite being under contract with Cagliari.

According to the report, Inter Milan and AC Milan are monitoring the 23-year-old, but the Premier League remains his likeliest next step.

L’Unione Sarda state Caprile is seen as a strong long-term option for English clubs, although none are directly named. His name has stayed active among recruitment departments planning for 2025-26.

The newspaper also points out that a move would place him alongside two Italian colleagues who are currently settled in England. Those are Gianluigi Donnarumma and Guglielmo Vicario. Caprile’s profile fits that trend, with Premier League scouts following his development closely.

Even so, Cagliari intend to keep him until June. L’Unione Sarda explains that the club see him as an important asset for the remainder of the campaign. They will only discuss a transfer in the summer window.

Whilst Caprile didn’t get much experience on the pitch with Leeds United, he’s spoken repeatedly about how important his time at Elland Road has been for his career.
