Crystal Palace have finalised a deal for Moroccan youngster Taha Majni on ‘attractive financial terms’.
Africa Foot report that Majni is set to join Crystal Palace from Union Touarga Sports after the Eagles advanced their earlier interest.
Sport Witness covered a report last month stating that Crystal Palace were showing ‘keen interest’ in the 18-year-old’s signature.
They had reportedly already opened talks with Union Touraga Spots regarding a deal. Those talks were believed to be at an advanced stage.
€700,000 plus bonuses
Now Africa Foot report that the deal has been completed. Their sources report that Crystal Palace are set to pay €700,000 for the defender. Potential add-ons, based on the player’s performance and development, can take that deal up to €800,000.
The deal also includes a ‘particularly favourable clause’ for Union Touarga Sports. They will receive 25% of the fee from any future.
Whether that’s the profit, which is usually the case, or the overall future transfer fee isn’t made clear. Either way, they could be set for more of the fee in future.
First-team plan
Africa Foot report that the plan at Crystal Palace is for Taha Majni to play for Crystal Palace’s reserve team at first. That will allow him to continue adapting to his new environment and English football.
However, he is expected to be promoted to the first team relatively quickly after playing a few matches with the reserves.
Crystal Palace aim to gradually nurture the youngster’s development before integrating him into the first-team squad. They’re very much banking on his potential and intend to provide a supportive environment to ensure his continued development.
If all goes to plan, the youngster will be a part of Pierre Sage’s first-team squad before too long. For Majni, the move represents a significant step forward in his career. He too has the ambition of establishing himself at the highest level as quickly as possible.
