Aston Villa‘s Andrés García will leave the Premier League side this summer.
Unai Emery didn’t utilise him regularly this season as the right-back played 109 minutes from eight matches.
The restricted role has convinced both him and Aston Villa to look for a solution.
Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain that Emery has given approval for the 23-year-old to go out on loan.
Valencia and Elche CF, who both showed interest in the winter market, are still keen and he prefers a move to Mestalla.
On Thursday, we relayed news his agent is in no rush to change clubs but want to make the final decision by July.
Valencia cool interest in Aston Villa man
Superdeporte now report Carlos Corberán’s side will face competition from several clubs to sign the Spaniard.
Valencia made progress in their talks with Andrés García’s agent and the Europa League winners between April and May.
Unai Emery sanctioning the move would have given them encouragement to go ahead and complete the operation quickly. However, that didn’t happen and Los Ches’ interest has now cooled.
That’s because Corberán prefers an experienced right-back like Lille’s Thomas Meunier over the Aston Villa man. The Spanish club, however, aren’t completely ruling out a move for the latter.
Valencia’s impasse has allowed other clubs to make moves to sign García on loan. This includes Lyon, who have ‘shown interest with a firm offer’. From Spain, Deportivo Alavés want to take him on a temporary deal this summer.
Emery & co. will have big say
Andrés García and the Premier League side will evaluate all offers and the Villa Park club are likely to have a big say on his next move.
Aston Villa would want to send him to a club where he can enjoy regular minutes next season.
His contract expires in 2029 and is currently valued at €6m by Transfermarkt. Spanish agency InterStarDeporte, who also manage Aston Villa’s Pau Torres, are representing the fullback.
