Manchester United are one of the clubs to have shown interest in Atlético Madrid’s João Félix.
Marca on Monday explain the La Liga side are ‘waiting for the final movement’ from the Red Devils to sign the forward in January.
Los Rojiblancos are working to sort out his future but have not received any offers from Manchester United or another club so far.
The Portugal international is unhappy with Diego Simeone and has instructed his agent, Jorge Mendes, to find a new club. That didn’t stop the manager from starting the ex-Benfica man in Atlético’s 2-0 win over Elche.
Félix scored before he was substituted in the second half. The report states the ‘coldness’ with which he responded to the gesture of the Atlético supporters indicates ‘nothing has changed’ regarding his intention to leave.
Although Simeone thinks of doing what’s best for the team, the manager and the club ‘do not take their eyes off the final movement’ that is expected from Manchester United and Arsenal. These are the two clubs ‘most interested’ in signing the player in January.
The Madrid club are somewhat tired of waiting for movements from England. It’s said the ‘next few days’ are ‘key’ for Mendes to end up transferring an offer that can close Félix’s case once and for all.
Manchester United aren’t willing to pay €100m, but that doesn’t mean they won’t seek to take Félix on a loan deal.
Over at Sport, they explain Atlético are considering selling Félix if anyone comes forward with an offer in excess of €100m.
This is ‘something improbable’ amid interest shown by Manchester United and others.
