Napoli are planning to re-negotiate with Bournemouth over a permanent deal for Hamed Junior Traorè in the summer once his loan deal comes to an end.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say the forward has nine games to convince the Italian champions to buy him outright.
Traorè is currently on loan at Napoli from Bournemouth until the end of the season after arriving in January as part of a wave of signings promised by Aurelio de Laurentiis.
That loan deal includes a €25m option to make it permanent but numerous reports have made it clear that Napoli are debating whether they want to pay that sum given the player’s performances to date.
Gazzetta dello Sport continue on that path today, explaining that Traorè has the remaining nine games of the season to convince Napoli into buying him on a permanent basis.
According to them, the strategy drawn up at this moment in time is to ‘re-discuss’ the terms of the current deal with Bournemouth, specifically the buy-out clause included in the loan deal and bring that down to ‘lower prices’.
There’s no specific sum mentioned but it seems Napoli consider €25m too much for Traorè and would instead prefer to bring that figure down. Whether Bournemouth will be open to that, remains to be seen.
