Real Madrid have identified Manchester City star Julián Álvarez as the target to become Karim Benzema’s ‘heir’, according to Fichajes.net.

The 35-year-old Frenchman is in the twilight of his playing career and the La Liga side don’t have quality backup to replace him.

Los Blancos are looking for a young striker who can lead their attack in the future and this is where the Manchester City player would fit in.

The Argentina international is providing cover for Erling Haaland at the Etihad. Despite this, he’s managed 15 goals and five assists this season. His form for club and country at the World Cup has convinced Carlo Ancelotti’s side to ‘go all out’ to sign him.

It won’t be easy to take the 23-year-old away from Manchester City since they don’t plan to part ways with him. Real Madrid won’t give up and are ‘willing to do what is necessary’ to secure Álvarez’s services.

It’s said Real Madrid are ‘prepared to make an attractive offer’ to the striker. They hope his desire to join the Spanish giants would give them an advantage in negotiations with Pep Guardiola’s side.
