West Ham United’s pursuit of Matias Soulé may be causing something of a split at the Italian club, where the fans are determined to ensure he stays.
Tuttomercatoweb explain that while Soulé has been included in Juventus’ pre-season squad on a tour in Germany, the reality is that he is on the sell list and Juventus want him out.
Roma are currently pressing for his signature and the Argentine has given them his ‘basic approval’, but they are yet to reach an agreement with Juventus on the player’s valuation.
The fans of the club want to keep him and have made that clear, but the club are determined, with manager Thiago Motta and director of football Cristiano Giuntoli in agreement that he can be sold.
The latter has been heavily involved in exit negotiations with his suitors, including Leicester and West Ham, who are both in the picture too.
They’re at loggerheads with the fanbase, who clearly don’t want to see the youngster depart and have made their feelings clear again on the matter.
The reality is that Juventus need the money, though, with a report earlier today even explaining they’d basically told the youngster he could move to England or sit in the youth team instead.
Whether their fans’ efforts change that stance remains to be seen but it’s all building up to get a little ugly, as West Ham and others eye a transfer opportunity.
