Short of personnel at the back, AS Roma have been looking for a centre-back since before the transfer window, with Everton’s Ben Godfrey a candidate they like.
Any deal would have to be a cheap one, since their budget for a move is around €1.5m, but that’s money the Toffees could always use, especially as the defender isn’t one overly used by Sean Dyche.
The latest comes from Corriere dello Sport, who explain that AS Roma, while they sort out the situation surrounding Renato Sanches, are keeping an eye on ‘attractive players’.
They aren’t talking about their looks, but more the fact they are in situations that could favour a move in the later parts of the transfer window, with Everton’s Godfrey included on that list.
Corriere dello Sport point out the player currently ‘cannot find space’ with Dyche in charge at Goodison Park, as he only has three appearances in all competitions this season.
The hope is that Everton and Godfrey could ‘open up to a loan’ in the very near future, which could suit AS Roma down to a T.
