There are claims in the Dutch media that PSV are still interested in signing Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg this summer.
In recent weeks the 22-year-old has been linked with a move to the Dutch giants.
Ed.nl have today reported, as relayed by Soccernews.nl, that the Liverpool player is still on PSV’s wish list. It’s claimed the Dutch club can sign Van der Berg for €15m and this deal could be made easier if they can bring in revenue from outgoings.
PSV have already spent around €25m in this transfer window on new players, but if the likes of Johan Bakayoko can be sold then this will bring in much need transfer funds.
If they can generate in the region of €50m from the sale of Bakayoko, bringing in the Liverpool youngster shouldn’t then be an issue.
Since arriving at the Premier League club in 2019, Van der Berg has made just four appearances for the Reds, with all those coming in domestic cup competitions.
This has resulted in him being loaned out to Preston North End, Mainz and Schalke in the past few seasons. Liverpool aren’t making an exit cheap this summer, which has scared off multiple interested clubs.
