According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are trying to reach an agreement to sign Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters as they accelerate their efforts to sign the former Tottenham Hotspur player.
The Super Lig leaders have been linked with the 27-year-old in recent weeks as they look to bring in a right back in this transfer window.
Galatasaray reporter Serhan Türk has reported on the latest developments regarding Cimbom’s pursuit for the Southampton player and he’s told Haber Sarikirmizi something will happen on Monday with the Istanbul side’s objective to sign him.
“Galatasaray have Kyle Walker-Peters and Lemina on the transfer route. Tomorrow news is expected for Peters,” said the Turkish journalist.
Since the departure of Serge Aurier in the summer, the right back spot has become a problem for the Istanbul side. Subsequently, Gala have been monitoring a number of right-side defenders in this transfer window, and it seems Walker-Peters could be their solution.
Walker-Peters’ contract with Southampton expires in the summer and they may need to sell him for a low transfer fee in this window or risk losing him on a free transfer in the summer.
Everton have also been linked with the defender during this transfer window.
Turkey’s transfer window is open until February 11th.
