Manchester City star Sergio Agüero will not rule out the possibility of joining Chelsea in the summer.

The striker has announced his decision to leave the Etihad once his contract with the Citizens expires at the end of the season. He will be available on a free transfer and that has attracted clubs in England and across Europe.

Wednesday’s edition of Mundo Deporitvo explains the 32-year-old would be ‘delighted’ to join Barcelona. He also ‘values other proposals’, including the one he has on the table from Thomas Tuchel’s side.

It’s claimed the Argentina international’s signing is not a priority for the La Liga side. The player is also aware Ronald Koeman’s preference is to bring Memphis Depay to the Camp Nou in the summer.

Therefore, Pep Guardiola’s man is evaluating other offers he has on the table. He had initially preferred not to play against City, which is why a move to another English club was not high on the list.

Mundo, however, adds the South American will ‘not close the door at all’ to join another English club in the next market, with Chelsea ‘knocking on his door’.

Agüero struggled with injuries and was also tested positive for the Covid-19 this season. This forced him to spend much of the campaign away from the pitch.

His desire is to feature regularly at a new club so that it increases his chances of representing Argentina at the 2020 World Cup. For this reason, the City frontman would give priority to the sporting project over the economic proposals, when deciding his future.

If the Blues can offer Agüero a better project sporting wise, along with a good financial package, it should help them in convincing the player.
