Brighton and Bournemouth may already have an idea of how much it would cost to sign Néider Parra, with Atlético Nacional reportedly looking for more than €3m (£2.6m) for the defender.

The Colombian club are preparing for the possibility of losing the 21-year-old in January 2027. They’ve even identified a potential replacement from their own academy.

That’s an interesting development for the two Premier League clubs, who recently sent scouts to watch Parra in action.

Sport Witness exclusively revealed that Brighton and Bournemouth had representatives watching the centre-back earlier this month. Porto, Ajax and Palmeiras were also keeping an eye on him.

Atlético Nacional preparing for Parra’s departure

According to Bolavip Colombia, Atlético Nacional have already identified teenager Roymer Ospino as a possible replacement should Parra leave for Europe.

The 17-year-old currently plays for the club’s Under-20 side and stands at an impressive 2 metres tall.

He’s considered an exciting prospect in Colombia, particularly because of his technique and ability to play out from the back. His physical attributes are another big part of his game.

The report also mentions Stefan Medina as another option for the club’s defence. The experienced Colombian currently plays for Monterrey in Mexico and has previously represented Atlético Nacional.

In other words, Atlético Nacional seem to have two centre-backs who could eventually take Parra’s place – and that might happen soon.

Brighton and Bournemouth get first indication of asking price

The other interesting detail concerns how much Atlético Nacional might demand. Bolavip explain that reports from sources close to the Colombian club suggest they would want more than €3m (£2.6m) to let Parra leave.

January 2027 is already being mentioned as a possible window for a transfer.

Parra impressed when scouts watched Atlético Nacional beat Junior Barranquilla 3-1 earlier this month. He provided an assist in that game, which was a meeting between the Colombian league’s top two sides.

At 21 and standing 1.92m tall, he has an interesting profile for clubs looking to develop young defenders.

However, Atlético Nacional are clearly considering what happens if European interest turns into something more concrete. And with a potential replacement already identified, the Colombian club appear to be getting ready for that possibility.
