Romain Faivre is set to leave Bournemouth, at least for the coming season, having failed to really fulfil what was expected when he signed for the club from Lorient in 2023.
The midfielder was immediately loaned back to the Ligue 1 side, before being recalled by Bournemouth in January 2024. In the second half of the season, Faivre only made five appearances, four in the Premier League and one in the FA Cup.
Unfortunately, the minutes combined totalled to less than an hour and it always seemed that he’d have to find a new home this summer.
L’Equipe now report the player is set to travel to France, Brittany to be exact, ‘in the next few hours’ to sign for Ligue 1 side Brest.
He’s moving on a loan which will cost Brest €3m. There’s no indication of whether that amount includes wages although one would assume it does.
Faivre has a contract with Bournemouth lasting until June 2028, and there’s no indication of whether Brest will have a buying option.
