Bad news Arsenal fans, Paris Saint-Germain are confident that Ousmane Dembele will be fit for the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that there is a confidence that Dembele won’t be forced to miss the second leg with Arsenal.

They explain that PSG have elected to not put Dembele under tests today after he limped out of the 1-0 win over the Gunners on Tuesday evening. He scored the only goal in that game.

That premature exit had led to worries about a big injury but the decision not to put him under tests today is being seen as a ‘reassuring decision’ that ‘confirms positive reports’.

PSG have decided to wait and see how Dembele feels in the coming days rather than testing his fitness and the injury on Wednesday. If he is feeling well, he will resume training on Thursday at 5pm.

He will then be tested to see if the pain he was feeling and which ultimately forced him off against Arsenal, had disappeared. If it hasn’t, he will undergo further tests to ascertain what is wrong.

But the fact that he is not undergoing any tests on Wednesday ‘seems reassuring’ and is being seen as a sign that PSG are confident about the injury. L’Equipe say ‘internal echocardiograms’ have suggested there is no major issue.

Some sources are even confirming to them that he will be able to play against Arsenal in the return leg next week, with the injury more of a scare than anything else.
