According to a claim in the Turkish media, Borussia Dortmund have opened formal talks with Fenerbahce to sign left back Ferdi Kadıoğlu.
The Turkey international has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks and according to Hurriyet the Premier League side will now react to Dortmund’s move for the player.
It’s claimed Dortmund have stepped up in their pursuit of Kadıoğlu after being linked with him for the past few weeks. Fenerbahce could now sell the defender after signing Levent Mercan.
Dortmund are reportedly looking to offer €25m for the 24-year-old, but Hurriyet say Arsenal are ready to knock at the door in reaction to the German side’s approaches. It’s likely the Gunners would have to offer €30m or more to land Kadıoğlu, with reports developments could happen in the coming days.
It’s likely any deal would have to be done after Euro 2024, with Kadıoğlu with the Turkish national team.
Kadıoğlu made 41 appearances for Fenerbahce last season, scoring 3 goals. He’s contracted to the Super Lig side until June 2026.
