Real Madrid’s Manuel Ángel has already made a trip to London to join Fulham on deadline day.
The Premier League side have looked towards Real Madrid this summer since appointing Álvaro Arbeloa as their manager in July.
Fulham have already signed Gonzalo García and César Palacios from Real Madrid. Their manager also has the 22-year-old and Thiago Pitarch on his agenda for this window.
Towards the end of June, before Arbeloa’s arrival, Sport Witness covered a report from Spain explaining Fulham’s interest in Ángel.
Fulham reach agreement
Marca reports Real Madrid have refused to let Thiago Pitarch leave. This has forced Álvaro Arbeloa’s side to change their plans and shift their focus to Manuel Ángel.
The two midfielders came up through the ranks of Los Blancos’ youth system. The Fulham boss promoted Ángel to the first team earlier this year, and he played six matches last season.
Fulham have now finalised with Real Madrid a €4m deal for 70% of his rights. With the two clubs securing an agreement, the La Liga side would have given him permission to travel to England.
The newspaper states the player is already in London for medical and to sign his contract with Fulham.
Arbeloa key for Fulham signing
José Mourinho replaced Álvaro Arbeloa at the Spanish club and has left Manuel Ángel out of his core plans this season.
The new manager didn’t consider him during the pre-season while the player has no place at Real Madrid Castilla [reserve team].
Marca states: ‘…the summer was proving especially difficult for the brilliant midfielder.’
His former coach has been keeping a close watch on his situation in Madrid and has now taken action.
With his impending move to Fulham, the newspaper ends their report by stating: ‘That nightmare has now come to an end, and his Premier League dream with Fulham is about to begin.’
