Barcelona’s Ansu Fati is flying to London alongside his father and the rest of his entourage at 1pm (Central European Time) before travelling to Brighton and Hove Albion to complete his move there.
That’s according to Jijantes, who have footage of Ibrahima Fati and Santi Lotta travelling from Seville, where they have a home, ahead of uniting with Fati and his father for their flight to the UK.
Brighton jumped to the front of the queue for Fati last night, with a last minute, surprise move seeing them pip Tottenham to the transfer of the forward.
They’ve rapidly sealed a deal from that point, with Mundo Deportivo reporting that Fati and his entourage deliberated until the early hours of the morning between Brighton and Sevilla.
It was ultimately Roberto De Zerbi who managed to convince the player, though, with Sport saying the phone call with the Italian ‘changed everything’. That’s backed up by Marca, who say the Italian managed to convince the player and his family.
The belief is that Fati values Brighton over other offers, including Tottenham, as he has seen how young players have developed with the Seagulls in recent years, particularly under De Zerbi.
One of his entourage is super-agent Jorge Mendes and he has also been convinced by Brighton, so much so that he is now ‘putting pressure’ on Fati to accept their offer and wrap it up quickly, according to a seperate report from Mundo Deportivo.
Fati’s family had initially been trying to place him at Sevilla and they also tried to win the race until the early hours of the morning, but they have seemingly failed and only a late, dramatic change of opinion and plans would now see him go there.
At the moment all signs point to Brighton, whose move last night has proven to be decisive and put them on the verge of completing a very impressive transfer coup.
