Dion Beljo has impressed for Dinamo Zagreb this season and Newcastle United are in the chase for the striker.
The 24-year-old has 22 goal contributions (goals plus assists) in all competitions, while featuring in only 15 games so far. In the Croatian top-flight, he has found the net 12 times in eight games, adding four assists.
Now a Croatia international, Beljo also has one goal for the national team, scoring against Spain during the recent international break.
The incredible statistics aren’t exactly a surprise either, as the forward scored 31 times in 36 league games in the 2025/26 season.
Attention around him is on the rise, with Newcastle United interested.
Player matching Yamal numbers
Croatian newspaper Vecernji List take a closer look at the attacker in their Wednesday print edition, noting that he has contributed to the most number of goals across Europe so far this season.
He has also been more impactful than Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, carrying on from where he left off last season.

The newspaper make it clear that this has attracted interest from several clubs, with Dinamo Zagreb having rejected a €20m offer in the summer. At that point, their valuation stood at €25m and soon, it could grow further.
Newcastle United are in the mix for a possible deal, with Betis still interested. AC Milan are also in the chase, with Dinamo Zagreb assessing the idea of a future sale.
They are aware they won’t hold onto the player for too long and will soon need a replacement.
The club’s management also know that Beljo could become the biggest sale in their history and are looking forward to a record deal.
Our take: Intriguing situation for the Magpies
Newcastle United signed Matias Fernandez-Pardo after letting Nick Woltemade depart on a loan deal to Juventus. They also have William Osula and Yoanne Wissa as striker options, which suggests they don’t exactly need another signing.
But Beljo’s numbers are too good to ignore and they could yet improve.
This makes him an attractive prospect for Newcastle United, as he clearly guarantees goals.
But question marks can also be raised about adaptability. While the Magpies will be able to afford him, there is little guarantee the striker adapts to English football immediately, especially if a huge fee is shelled out for him.
