The trip to Europe made by agent Fernando Hidalgo to listen to offers for River Plate star Julian Alvarez continues to be one of the biggest topics in the Argentine media, who wait for news on the striker’s future.

It’s been repeatedly said that Manchester United met the representative on Monday night, and as newspaper Olé writes about the situation today, they can’t confirm that the conversation happened.

The outlet says the player’s entourage ‘haven’t confirmed the meeting’, even though it’s once again claimed that several European sides are set to speak to them in the coming days.

Now although the encounter isn’t admitted, Olé still names Manchester United as the main suitors for the transfer, and even wonders if the agent will indeed talk to the Old Trafford side in the coming hours.

It’s once again said that despite River Plate’s wish to keep the player, and the fact the agents have no offers in hands, there’s nothing to be done in case some club shows up paying his €20m release clause.

Something similar is said by TyC Sports, who today feature a story saying Manchester United follow the striker ‘very closely’.

The outlet features a piece talking about the potential replacements for Alvarez at River Plate, and points out the club will only let him go in case the clause is triggered.
