Genclerbirligi vice president Arif Olmez has spoken to Ajansspor about their failed attempt to sign Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart.
The Turkish club have been linked with a move for the 32 year old and there were reports the Super Lig side were in talks with the former England international. However, they signed Swansea City’s Swedish keeper Kristopher Nordfeldt earlier this week.
Speaking about Hart, Olmez explained the transfer couldn’t get off the ground due to economic difficulties: “As you know, we have to control our spending because of FFP. I don’t want to give too many details, but for Joe Hart, I can say that we are considering the financial aspects of any transfer.”
Hart could leave Burnley this month after spending the season as back-up to Nick Pope at Turf Moor. Genclerbirligi’s initial interest may well have been prompted by an agent offering the player around.
