Everton have now some bigger competition for the signing of the Ajax star David Neres, according to the Brazilian press today.

Although the Toffees were named as one of the favourite sides to land the forward, the race now includes the likes of AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.

It’s website UOL who talks about the competition this Tuesday, focusing on recent contacts the French side had with Neres’ staff.

The first meeting was good enough for PSG to consider the talks to be ‘advanced’, as they are the club with better conditions to seduce Ajax.

However, they are also the club who can give Neres the smallest chances of being a starter. That’s why his signing would depend on the sale of Angel Di Maria, Neymar, Kylian Mbappé or Edinson Cavani. UOL says the Brazilian and the Frenchman are ‘non negotiable’, while the Argentine would be the one put on the market.

Everton are said to have two strengths. The first one is the club’s good relationship with the player’s staff, since they recently signed Richarlison and Bernard. The second one is giving Neres the opportunity to move to England and play in the Premier League, something he looks forward to.

UOL says Ajax won’t make Neres’ departure difficult, since his exit has been ‘programmed’ for the summer market. The player’s staff expects him to cost over €50m.
