Starting just seven from a possible 15 games this season, Javier Hernandez’s season isn’t exactly going to plan.
With four goals to his name in all competitions, the 30-year-old isn’t a huge part of Manuel Pellegrini’s plans, and talk of a move away in January has been relatively rife.
Valencia, who failed to get Michy Batshuayi firing on all cylinders during the first half of the campaign, are currently looking at a number of options to replace the Belgian, and Chicharito is one of them.
This comes directly from the club’s manager, Marcelino, who was asked about the Mexico international during his press conference on Friday.
“The little information I have is that West Ham are only considering a sale, but my job is to put a team out. I’m not the one who decides whether or not to buy footballers.”
As for Michy Batshuayi in all this, there’s still a chance the Chelsea man could stay for the second half of the campaign, but only due to a lack of alternative destinations for the player himself.
This admission from Marcelino came after it was reported that Valencia had offered €8m for the West Ham striker, only for the Hammers to reply to them asking for €12m.
