Lucas Perez to Arsenal looks like it could be completed very quickly indeed. Galicia local newspaper La Voz De Galicia are reporting on Thursday afternoon that a deal has been agreed.
That’s significant, because they were the more cautious among the Spanish press, when others this morning and last night were saying a deal was done.
It sounds like La Voz have a very good source for this, given the detail, and they explain Arsenal will pay €20m, which is the value of Perez’s clause, however, they will pay that as a straight transfer fee in an amicable transaction.
Perez’s wages are set to rise ‘enormously’, which goes without saying, and Arsenal have beaten Everton and West Brom to the punch.
Of the €20m, €14m goes straight to Deportivo, €6m to Perez’s former club PAOK. of Deportivo’s €14m, they’ll be paying €3.5m off a tax debt.
