It doesn’t appear to have been announced by either club, but Nishan Burkart has swapped Manchester United for SC Freiburg in Germany, confirming it by appearing for the German side’s second squad.
Scoring in a 5-2 win in a preseason friendly against SC Cham, the 19-year-old has already left his mark on the new club, and his new manager, Christian Preußer is already praising him.
Speaking to Badische-Zeitung, who also confirm the transfer in the same article, after the game, he said: “He’s a fast striker who has his strengths in one-on-one. We’re hoping for a really quality boost through him offensively.”
It’s stated Freiburg had been looking at Burkart for quite some time, and they’ve finally got him.
Perhaps the young forward saw this move as a quicker route to first-team football, since the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Marcus Greenwood and co. all stood in his way at Old Trafford.
