Jean Harisson Marcelin came up through the ranks of Auxerre before making his first team debut in August 2018.

His appearances in the first team were limited until the end of last season, but things have improved for the 19-year-old as he has 15 Ligue 2 games to his name this campaign.

Marcelin’s performances have seen him catch attention from AS Monaco and Manchester City, according to France Football.

L’Equipe earlier reported Monaco submitted a €6m offer for the teenager. According to France Football, they aren’t the only club interested in the young defender as Marcelin pleases Pep Guardiola and the Etihad club have already watched him in action.

The report adds Manchester City ‘should come back quickly’, but it isn’t clear whether it’s to monitor or to submit an offer for him.

France Football claims Marcelin is a ‘great promise’ of French football, and his contract with Auxerre runs until 2023. He primarily operates as a centre-back, but can also feature as a defensive midfielder.
