With Antonio Conte returning to the dugout, Tottenham’s game against AC Milan in the CHampions League was meant to be a big event.

The Premier League side only had a 1-0 deficit to turn around at home, and many believed they would.

Unfortunately, that’s not how things turned out, with Tottenham drawing 0-0 in a rather dire performance, leaving Conte’s side out of Europe.

The one benefit from this, if you want to call it that, is they can now fully focus on the task of finishing in the top four, but that will be little consolation for the squad, who will have wanted to give their fans a night to remember.

One man in particular who will regret a few of his decisions is Cristian Romero, who was sent off in the 77th minute after picking up a second yellow card.

The Argentine, because of that mistake, has been targeted by many outlets as being ‘the worst’ player on the pitch, with both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport labelling him as such.

The former give him a 4.5/10, stating his sending off ‘was the final blow’ for Tottenham, and there was a feeling his red card was going to happen ‘sooner or later’ due to his constant forceful defending.

As for Corriere, they give him a 4, also pointing out his roughhousing, saying the first yellow was ‘inevitable’ for his foul on Leão, while the second for a kick on Theo Hernandez was also deserved.

Now, heading to France, L’Equipe are a bit harsher, as they tend to be, giving him a 3/10, also making him the worst rated player of the entire game.
