Crystal Palace have now signed Diego Cavalieri on a free transfer until the end of the season to provide some backup to Wayne Hennessey following Julian Speroni’s injury.

After that, it’s Vicente Guaita who will be coming in, having already agreed a transfer to the Eagles from Getafe in January, yet the Spaniard appears to have some fitness issues of his own.

Expected to be between the sticks against Deportivo La Coruña midweek, the 31-year-old had to pull out during the warm-ups, according to Marca, due to feeling a ‘discomfort’ in the hand on which he was operated last season.

This could be a concern for Crystal Palace, as the last thing they’ll want is a long-term injury hindering his chances to settle in quickly at his new side.

Hopefully, it’ll be something he can sort out before his move to Selhurst Park is made official.

Guaita has featured 23 times for Getafe this season, keeping eight clean sheets and conceding 20 goals.
