Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Rui Patricio is a target for José Mourinho as he seeks a new goalkeeper for Roma.
That’s according to Jornal de Noticias, who say that Patricio ‘has a profile that pleases’ the Portuguese coach.
They explain that the Wolves keeper is a target for Roma, who are planning something of a rebuild after the surprise appointment of Mourinho.
He believes Patricio has the experience that he needs for his team, and the fact that he is entering the final year of his deal can help make a transfer happen.
He’s had three good years, but the JN state that the club are in the midst of a ‘tumultuous’ period, which we’re assuming means the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo.
As such, Wolves are ‘willing to sell’ Patricio for between €15-20m, a figure that will not be an obstacle for Roma, who want to replace Pau López in goal.
Patricio is currently counting down until the Euros with Portugal, but there is a sense the deal ‘could go ahead at any moment’.
