With Nuno Espírito Santo confirming that Wolverhampton Wanderers are working to sign Willian José from Real Sociedad, the Spanish media now brings the latest on the negotiations.

Outlet AS reports that the clubs are still discussing the buying clause which Wolves will have in the contract.

It’s claimed that Real Sociedad want it to be obligatory, and despite showing signs they’d buy the striker at the end of the season, Wolves don’t want to feel forced about it.

Regardless, an ‘agreement in principle’ has been reached.

AS adds that the buying clause shouldn’t be over €20m, and it should only take a short while before the final announcement, once the bureaucracy to register players in England is overcome.

This delay to get things done is the main reason why Willian José could still be seen playing for Real Sociedad at the weekend.

The striker joined the La Liga side back in 2016, and is leaving the club with 62 goals in 170 appearances, with perhaps a few numbers to be added on Saturday.
