Wolverhampton Wanderers interest in VfB Stuttgart’s Saša Kalajdžić has been discussed in the German press for the past few days.

On Sunday, Sky Deutschland reported the Bundesliga side have rejected the €15m plus bonuses offer made by the English club for the striker. It was also stated Wolves have an agreement in place with the player over personal terms.

Earlier today, Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat responded to the claims of Wolves making an offer for the 25-year-old and stressed his agents have been made well of the situation, presumably the asking price.

Having seen VfB turn down their bid, Bruno Lage’s side ‘prepare a new offer higher than €15m’ plus bonuses to sign the Austria international. That’s according to Sky Germany reporter, Florian Plettenberg, who states there will be ‘new round of talks today’ for the player.

Kalajdžić is in Stuttgart and waiting for his employer to agree a deal with Wolves for his transfer. He is ‘ready for a medical and signing’ with the Premier League club.

It remains to seen whether Wolves’ new proposal can convince VfB to sanction Kalajdžić’s sale.
