At the weekend, Sky Deutschland reported Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a bid of €15m plus difficult to achieve bonuses for Saša Kalajdžić.

It was also stated VfB Stuttgart have turned down the bid made by the Premier League side and are demanding a total package worth €25m to sanction the striker’s sale.

Wolves have found an agreement with the player for personal terms and want to make an improved bid to secure his services. VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat has hinted the offer made by Bruno Lage’s side for the 25-year-old isn’t enough.

“His agents know exactly what’s at stake, and have been aware for three months. That’s why we’re still clearly in our position at the moment,” he told DAZN, quoted by Transfermarkt.

The German club’s chief also stated the ‘numbers’ doing rounds in the media [VfB wanting €25m, while Wolves offered €15m plus bonuses] ‘would be right’.

Mislintat added: “At the moment there is nothing to suggest it [Kalajdžić’s transfer]. It’s all about: Deliver or don’t.”

The Austria international requested to skip training on Saturday and was then subsequently left out of the squad to face FC Köln yesterday. Mislintat understands the player’s position as it’s still not clear whether he will continue with his current employer.

“He said he doesn’t feel 100 percent ready in the current situation. We accept it now and have to see what happens in the next four or five days,” the VfB director explained.
