Rayan Aït Nouri’s failure to make the squad for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ clash with Chelsea on Saturday has sent up a ‘worry alert’ about his future at Molineux.

That’s according to La Gazette Du Fennec, who say that there are ‘worries’ the player has fallen out of favour under Julian Lopetegui.

They explain that it had been expected the youngster would establish himself at Wolves after being selected for Algeria for the first time during the last international break.

His performance, particularly as a starter in the game against Niger, ‘was very satisfactory’ but that has not helped to ‘remove the worries’ for the player at club level.

He appears to be ‘losing the confidence’ of Wolves coach Lopetegui and that means things are getting ‘seriously complicated’ for him at Molineux.

The situation appears to have become ‘more delicate’ since the international break with his failure to make the team sheet for Wolves clash with Chelsea the third time in a row that he has been left out.

That’s made it clear that Aït Nouri has been ‘downgraded’ in terms of importance and that could lead to a departure in the summer.

The reality is that he needs to find a team where he can play regularly and put his career on an ‘upward curve’ and that doesn’t appear to be on offer at Wolves.

His career plan is to be the first choice for Algeria at the African Cup of Nations next winter and for that to happen he needs to be playing regularly. Thus, this upcoming summer window appears to be ‘decisive’, with a move away expected.
